Bob attended the University of Arizona on a golf scholarship. He graduated in 1971 after serving as captain of the golf team his senior year.
In 1972, Bob turned professional and became a member of the P.G.A. of America. From 1974 to 1996, he served as the Resident Golf Professional at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Massachusetts.
Earning his U.S. P.G.A. Tour Card in 1982, Bob played overseas from 1983 to 1996 – including the Sunshine Tour in Southern Africa. He also played a full schedule of regional tournaments in the northeastern U.S.
Bob retired in 2017 after 41 years as head golf coach at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 2006 he was award the Gordon McCullough Golf Coach of the Year Award by the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association.
Bob has managed the Solomon Pond Golf Center since 1996.
